Music, which is this week’s Photo Hunt theme, plays a big role in our family members’ lives. While George and I are restricted to listening to lots of it, our son is working hard on becoming a Kirk Hammett incarnation (though he doesn’t approve of me saying that!!). I would have loved to bring you a photo of him strumming his treasured B.C. Rich Virgin but I didn’t want to invade his privacy more than I already have!
So the next best thing, I thought, was cat antics with the precious piece. I was really, I mean really patient, laying out the bait (the guitar) on Simba’s favourite hang-out, and then waiting for the trap to snap. Waiting. And waiting some more. Finally he decided it was time for a nap, only the ensuing photo session turned out a complete non-starter. He was merely utterly disgusted that someone else had taken his place already; once he figured out that there could be only one, Simba withdrew without further exploration to search for cosier pastures. I guess he isn’t into music.

Music in Gozo
If you know my blog you know about my infatuation with Chasing Pandora – Gozo’s hottest music export. This photo is put together from two gigs, one in Malta, the other in Gozo. What a pity the Music theme wasn’t scheduled for a couple of weeks later because on September 22nd Chasing Pandora are going to perform live at the ‘3D Festival’ in Dwejra, where I’ll probably shoot another few dozen photos… :)
For those of you who haven’t got a clue what Chasing Pandora sounds like, here’s a little “bonus track” for this week’s photo hunt. Enjoy! :)

Wow, how did your cat learn to play the guitar! I am learning. Started in January! If I find time to practice it is fabulous! I always wanted to play the acoustic guitar! So here I am, but badly! Learning Black Magic Woman at the moment! ;-) But I am NO Santana!

Sabine: Simba was totally uninterested in the thing, I couldn’t even get him to pretend… As for Chasing Pandora playing in LA, well I guess you’ll be coming to Gozo rather sooner than that happening. LOL!

Chasing Pandora have a really cool sound. I like them. The singer sounds a little like Jewel when she keeps her voice in the deeper register.

I love both of those photographs but Simba’s annoyance at having the instrument in the way of his favorite napping spot is hysterical. Great fun.

There is nothing to do but when a cat is on a photo I don’t “see” the others, lol !And he is beautiful ! What a fur pattern ! I tried to put my flute besides cat Pookie, but when she saw me coming with this long thing, the carton and the paper plus my camera, she escaped ! And even later she absolutely refused to sit besides my “still life” the others were not better ! :)
That cat seems to have a liking with music. Good he didn’t try to sharpen his claws on it. (lol)
