If I was “a little out of breath” last week, I don’t know what you’d call my condition this week!! I’ve spent a lot of time all over the internet to try and get word about my book out there. At times I thought I’d finally really go insane. I also had a few doubting moments, suspecting that all this action on my part was sort of futile, but it does seem to work, as a little number of books has already been sold – although the official release is mid-October! Well, I guess I’ll just keep drumming. :)

So it’s been a rather hectic week, and there was no way I’d go out and around to take photos. But the PhotoHunt is the one activity that I really don’t want to give up on! I had a look through my archived pics and this is what I came up with for this week’s theme, Original:

Two artist friends of mine, Austrian-born Hermine and Kathrin from Switzerland (both have been living in Gozo for many years), came up with this fabulous – and original! – idea to choose a fisher boat, belonging to Kathrin’s husband, as the venue for an exhibition in August of last year. Well, and that exhibition obviously housed a lot of original works of art! ;)

Photo Hunters - Original

While having my first coffein shot in the kitchen this morning, my eyes fell on this framed – original – certificate. It sort of proves that I’ve been a certified geek since 1993. It’s strangely symbolic having it hanging in my kitchen. Unfortunately I was never able to use it to get a geeky job… but I had worked so hard for it (travelling to Malta two evenings a week after work for nearly a whole year and doing assignments at night), that looking at it occasionally still makes me feel the pride I felt when I received it! :)

Photo Hunters - Original

Hope all y’all gonna enjoy a happy weekend! (I could almost pass for a Texan, eh? :D)

Hi Julie, thanks! That certificate is quite a few years old, though! ;)

And also thanks for that time-stamping idea – I always upload my entries when I find some free time, but it has never occurred to me to post-date it. Oh well, maybe next time… :D

Good shot for the original theme. I don’t believe I’ve ever been to an art show on a fishing boat. That is an original and cool idea. I think it’s great that your book has been published and also congratulations on the course you completed. Taking a class while working is an accomplishment and good to have the original certificate to remind you what you did.

Sabine: Yep, the Swiss are quite good at original ideas – right after the Germans! :P
Chicago, eh? Girl you’re really seeing the world! I’m envious…
(Oh, by the way… love your gravatar! ;) )

Nap Warden (love that nick LOL!): Thanks!

Carver: Thank you for your nice words (as usual! :) )

Pat: thanks – and a happy weekend to you too!

Chris: thanks – and I’ll try to take it easy. But that’s not easy, once I put my head to something. ;) Happy weekend!

Andrée: thank you! Malta is a 30 minute ferry crossing away from Gozo.

Don’t know how many comments I’ll be able to answer after this – but I wish a HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL OF YOU!

I think a lot of people feel that same way about degrees and certificates we’ve earned. I guess the important thing is feeling good about yourself for completing something so difficult.

Beautiful pieces of art by the way!

What an original and wonderful place to have an exhibition!

And geeky you might be – but you worked hard to get that certificate to prove it – and deserve to have it framed and on show!

This is a fabulous idea for the theme. It must have been a very tight venue for the show if too many people showed up at once. Thanks for visiting
