This week’s PhotoHunt theme, Pink, drove me into the garden again. But rather than taking the photos on the spot, I gathered pieces that had been blown off by the gale-force winds we “enjoyed” last weekend, and played with them on my desk. The weather has become almost summer-like again, by the way. 24°C – but 75% humidity. I think I prefer autumnal storms…

Update 27 October… That’s what happens when you can’t wait for the proper PhotoHunt day (which is today): Last night I came across a perfect pink piece of decoration in a Chinese restaurant. I did have my camera with me (I almost always do!) but no tripod. (Who carries a tripod to dinner?) I didn’t upload a larger version, it’s too shaky. What a pity… :(

Those are both beautiful but the second one is striking to me. It almost looks like paper flowers. Great shots for pink and I hope you have a great weekend.

their texture actually is almost paper-like! And they are crunchier than you’d think, too… How do I know? Our cat is crazy for them, sounds like he’s chewing on potato crisps! The wind keeps blowing them into our internal yard, and it’s impossible to prevent Simba from eating them. I haven’t found out whether bougainvillea are actually bad for cats…

I was going to say HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY ARE CRUNCHIER! ok as long as YOU are not eating them.
I have some of those crunchy paper like flowers. But believe it or not they are looking gray with the ash that has fallen
    Lovely photos as ALWAYS! ;-)
I like autumn storms too and I dont mean FIRESTORMS…Where is the rain?!??! The cold!?!? I have had to pull out all my summer clothes back out (not that they were that far out of reach)…
    Have a great weekend!

Hi Sabine!! I am having problems when uploading your site :( I receive a message: “operation aborted” In fact I don’t know if this comment will be published successfully :( I went backwards and forwards many times to get to this page :( I have Active Control X already and don’t know what the problem could be :(

Anyway, just to let you know I love the colour pink :) And certainly loved your pictures :)
