Sooo… I got tagged again. Sabine in LA wants me to spit out seven random and/or weird facts about myself. To start with, the rules of this tag are:

  1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
  2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).
  3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
  4. Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

These are seven random facts about me
I’d try to keep it weird, for interest’s sake, but I don’t think I am all that strange! (Um… do you?)

  1. I was born on 4th March 1959, my first day of school was the 19th April 1966. My day of confirmation was the 13th May 1974 , my last day of secondary school 12th March 1976. My first ever holiday to Gozo started on 27th June 1983; I moved here on 13th April 1984 and got married on 26th July of the same year… I could go on and on, but I’ve probably lost you already by now, so I’ll refrain from making it worse.

There is a sort of weird fact about me hidden in that paragraph, though: I’m prone to rattling down all kinds of dates without having to think twice; I can’t help remembering dates. It’s like a curse – others might think it’s purely neurotic…

  2. At the age of 10, I had my appendix removed. The strange part of it was, there had been nothing wrong with me – except for the fact that I hadn’t studied for a maths test and the outcome of that was more scary to me than the prospect of having no school for a couple of weeks! I hadn’t planned on an operation, though, but was merely faking a tummy ache…
  3. I’m a ravenous reader. In 1966 (I was in year 1 at the time!) my dad gave me two volumes of classic fairy tales for Christmas. They were not the typical kids’ books, but I read them without help and never looked back. All through my school years our public library saw me several times a week. When I first came to Gozo, things got a little difficult in that department. I wasn’t used to reading English yet, and German books were hard to come by. I started quenching my thirst by re-reading all the books that I had brought with me. Then I’d read anything I could put my hands on – Ladybird books in Maltese and English (gotta start somewhere, hux!), and sometimes I was so desperate for printed matter that even instruction manuals and advertising leaflets were read front to back.

By the way, I learnt “proper” English by reading The Times of Malta and – wait for it – Danielle Steele. Nowadays her books would bore me stiff, but the kind of repetitive “technique” she uses, made it very easy for me to understand what was going on…

  4. My first creative writing consisted of drafting replies to complaint letters. ’nuff said! :D
  5. I’m a person who’s very comfortable with herself. If I had no human contact at all for, say, a week, it wouldn’t bother me in the least. (Is that weird?) The only thing I’m really not good at when I’m alone, is eating regular meals. Strangely, I don’t like to eat without company.
  6. I’m pathologically punctual and honest. I’m almost always early for appointments and usually it’s me who has to wait for the other party to arrive. It drives me nuts sometimes… And I’m not able to lie. Not that I have never tried… but anyone could tell if I wasn’t truthful, so I stay away from that. Interesting: Nobody knew that my tummy ache was put on (see No. 2 above) – then again, perhaps they were conspiring to teach me a lesson?!
  7. I love clouds and can spend hours just watching them… And I’m in love with this photo, which I took yesterday afternoon (click on it for a larger view):

I didn’t expect to get this tag done in one go; turned out easier than I’d thought. Seven bloggers I’m tagging:

  1. Kathy
  2. Carin
  3. Frances
  4. Patricia
  5. Wen
  6. Grego
  7. Jean Paul

Hi Sabine!! Thanks a lot for the tag!! It looks very interesting! Just give me a little bit of time and I will definetely post it :) Wow! I really learned a lot of things about you with the seven random facts!

“Ladybird books in Maltese” I also have a couple :) but I still haven’t gone through them yet :) And I also tried to find books in Spanish when I came because I was not used to reading in English at all and was afraid I would waste the money I had spent in the book because I wouldn’t understand many details…or huge parts of the plot ;) But then little but little I realized that first I couldn’t find books in Spanish :) and second, I had to jump into the pool and swim…so though I must admit I somehow struggled with the first books I bought now I just find some words or phrasal verbs which are not familiar to me but that’s all :) Wow…I just remembered something about me which would fit perfectly in my seven random facts… :) But I am in a hurry :( Got to go!

    Have a lovely week Sabine!!

I also trend to be early for pretty much everything. I guess I worry I would be late.

That is such a wonderful cloud image. I saw the short video with more clouds images. They’re wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

    What a coincidence! :D
The view of that photo really got to me… it was very lucky that I had the camera with me – and I was in the right place at the right time. ;) I was in a strange mood yesterday, and a look at the sky was all it took to calm me down! :)

I loved reading your random facts. You are a very interesting lady, Sabine! The tummy ache – too funny! Of course, I’m sure you weren’t laughing about it at a time. I wish I had your memory for dates. You remind me a lot of my husband. He thinks that if you aren’t at least 15 minutes early for an appointment, then you are late. That is a GORGEOUS photograph. Don’t you love it when you capture something like that at just the right moment! Awesome!

Thanks for the tag. I try to be brief with my Sunday posts, but I will get to it one day this week….if I can think of 7 interesting random facts about me.

    Hope your weekend was grand!

I never thought I was interesting Patricia!
On my way to see someone today I had to pass through the old streets of Victoria. I had the camera with me (of course!) and it was itching me to take some shots – but I thought I’d better wait till I can go for a stroll there with my Canon!! ;)
