The PhotoHunt theme this week is Protect(ion); I’m stretching this a little by showing you some serious lack of protection. I took these photos yesterday morning from my garden – it shows a worker on a construction site. Not sure if he’s got a death wish or maybe he thinks he’s invincible. This guy was standing right on the edge, some 3 storeys above the ground, without any protective gear whatsoever; it made me dizzy just watching him!

Maybe I should add that this is by no means unusual in Gozo. And deaths from falls are not exactly uncommon either. Makes you shake your head, doesn’t it?!

The weather is very kind to us this weekend; it seems this is the first real spring day we’re enjoying. So please don’t take it personally if I don’t visit you – or if I do might not comment – because it’s a crime not to go out there and get some sunshine into my face!!

Wish you all a happy weekend!

PS: I haven’t forgotten about my promise to tell you how to do a triangle collage…. just was a little late with it: please scroll down to the next post! ;)

Now, I looked at this picture and thought…oh, he’s building a protective wall, but ahh, he’s also not protected from falling. I get it. Very nice pics.

I couldn’t have watched… I’ve seen so many people work like that… At least he had a cap and shirt on for protection… so may people who work on roofs around here are shirtless… getting that quick tan! Good Post!

Quite a scarey post! There is no law to stop this happening! Makes a great shot but…

lol it’s funny (well not exactly, but I can’t help it) to see the reactions above.. that’s like another day at the office for this guy.

in a way I admire his courage, not just for being on that wall, but for just being able to not give a shit about laws, his safety, and well his life.

oh well, typical Maltese (well, Gozitan in this case :)

He is definitely crazy not to have any protection. I never know how people have a ‘head for heights’. I used to have terrible vertigo.

That is scary. Especially since I have a friend who fell off a roof. He was very lucky not to be hurt any worse than he was. Happy weekend and enjoy your spring weather!

    Aloha!

WOW!! What a spooky shot:) My brother is a contractor so I know all about being safe up on the roof. Great pictures for this week’s theme.

Hope you have time to visit mines http://upcountrysmiles.com. Thank you

I get dizzy just looking at the photos. He must have great balance. Good reverse take on the theme.

Stop by my photo hunt if you get a chance.

Crazy, I have seen the same thing very close to us also here in Gozo. Just to add to the craziness he had his two young children on the third floor with him.

Oh, my!!! I’m not fond of heights even if there are multiple safety nets around me. This makes my legs hurt just to look at it. It seems to me that his back side is also a bit unprotected! =)

Hope you are having a safe and delightful weekend, dear friend!
